Fireworks jettisoned from the top of the John R. Park Building kicked off the sixth appearance of ESPN’s “College GameDay” at the University of Utah early Saturday morning. Talk about setting the tone.

Garrett Morris won the contest, but the student—who considers himself a rock climber, not a kicker—called in a ringer, a move we’ve seen before. His friend Jonah Knubel, a former high school soccer player who kicked for his school’s football team as a senior and was an all-region honoree, stepped in for the attempt.

A win over the Red Raiders would be a huge step toward clinching BYU’s spot in the Big 12 championship game in December. The game is scheduled for 10 a.m. MT on ABC.

“College GameDay” will get underway at 9 a.m. ET on ESPN. Kickoff for the Cougars-Red Raiders game will be at noon ET.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats got centerstage treatment on the latest version of ESPN's College Gameday. No one more so than star quarterback Brendan Sorsby, with a cool featurette they aired on him during Saturday's broadcast.

Pat McAfee made a decision at the start of College Gameday. "College GameDay" aired live from Salt Lake City before Utah vs. Cincinnati game. Pat McAfee energized the crowd, even taking his shirt off at fans’ urging.

In Week 10, the Bearcats will put that ranking on the line against No. 24 Utah, which has rattled off its own stretch of three wins in the last four games. And College GameDay will be on site for that meeting in Salt Lake City. College GameDay will be in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the game between No. 17 Cincinnati and No. 24 Utah.

College GameDay is at the University of Utah for the school's football matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats, and this Utah Mammoth duo made an appearance on the show.
