The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday narrowly passed President Donald Trump's request to slash $9.4 billion in spending on foreign aid and public broadcasting, sending the package for consideration by the Senate.

The legislation, requested by the White House, would codify spending cuts pursued by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

WASHINGTON – The House passed the rescission package Thursday afternoon in a 214–212 vote, with all five Oklahoma representatives voting in favor of the funding cuts.
