Tuesday’s attack was carried out in the fabled Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam on a day when United States Vice President JD Vance was in India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a state visit to Saudi Arabia.

Following the attack in Pahalgam, legendary Team India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has expressed his grief for the victims in Jammu and Kashmir. Opening up about the incident, Tendulkar wrote on X, "Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic attacks on innocent people in Pahalgam.
