One of Iowa's top transfer portal targets is headed elsewhere. Former Chattanooga guard Honor Huff announced his commitment to West Virginia on Saturday morning. Huff, the nation's leader in 3-point makes a season ago with 131, thought seriously about Iowa, but he's headed for Big 12 pastures instead.

The transfer portal is the way for the Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team right now. Following the mass exodus after the firing of former head coach Fran McCaffery, the roster was barren of players.

In a surprise announcement Friday, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said she will not seek a third term in office in 2026.

The move by Ms. Reynolds, a Republican, will shake up the leadership of a state that has transformed from a political battleground into safely red territory.
