On Wednesday at 4:44 p.m. the NWS Raleigh NC released a flood advisory in effect until 7:45 p.m. for Scotland County.
Over four inches of rain swept through parts of Surry County, making some roads treacherous. It all happened in just a matter of hours, and flooded areas began receding as early as midnight Tuesday.
The possibility of localized flooding is strongest in the south metro, where some areas have already received 1 to 3 inches of rain.
At a news conference Monday, state officials said 101 people remain missing, including 97 in the Kerrville area.
If the system moves far enough offshore, environmental conditions over the Gulf appear "generally favorable" for additional development, and a tropical depression could still form
