MUMBAI, India (AP) — Indian Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in a scuffle with an intruder at his home early Thursday and underwent surgery at a hospital, media reports said.

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was out of danger, police said on Thursday, following stab injuries received in a scuffle with an intruder at his home in India’s financial capital of Mumbai for which he was undergoing surgery.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan underwent emergency surgery at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital following a knife attack at his Bandra residence early Thursday morning. The 54-year-old actor sustained multiple injuries during a confrontation with an intruder around 2:30am local time.

Popular Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to hospital with multiple stab injuries after an intruder reportedly barged into his house and attacked him. The attack took place early Thursday morning at an upscale neighbourhood of Mumbai city, where Khan lives with his family.

Khan's apartment is a sprawling 10,000 square feet and includes five bedrooms, a gym, a music room, and six terrace balconies. The opulent home occupies four floors of the building. Khan's house is valued at ₹70,000 per square foot, while other properties in the vicinity are priced at ₹50-55,000 per square foot.

Shah Rukh Khan reportedly headed to Lilavati Hospital to visit Saif Ali Khan, who was stabbed during a burglary attempt at his home. Saif is under medical observation, while police investigate the incident.
