Snow should taper off in New York City by about midday on Sunday before temperatures plummet under clear skies later, as a quick moving winter storm sweeps through the US Northeast.
AccuWeather recently issued a weather warning for the New York City area, advising that temperatures will drop into the teens Sunday night into Monday morning. As the thermometer plummets, the weather alert warns that any moisture, slush or untreated surface will quickly refreeze after sundown.
Up to five inches of snow is expected in the city, and as much as six inches on Long Island, from late Saturday into Sunday morning.
