Mexico is sending 26 high-ranking cartel figures to the United States in the latest major deal with the Trump administration.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum told reporters Wednesday the handover was a “sovereign decision” on the part of Mexico.

Mexican and United States authorities announced on Tuesday that 26 cartel bosses had been sent to the U.S., marking the second large transfer of Mexican prisoners to the U.S. this year.
