The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the city's first human case of West Nile virus this season has been confirmed. Officials in Jefferson County have also confirmed their first human cases of the virus,

Eleven people in Colorado have tested positive for West Nile this year, including five who developed neurologic symptoms and three who needed hospital care. One person died from the virus.

DENVER (KDVR) — This year’s first human case of West Nile in Denver has been confirmed, as well as three cases in Jefferson County, Colorado health officials said on Monday. The three residents of Jefferson County are recovering at their homes, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
