A massive black bear was found living in the Altadena home of a family who returned after being forced to evacuate due to the Los Angeles fires in January.

The two fires sparked on Jan. 7 during a historic wind event and swept through the Pacific Palisades and Altadena, killing at least 29, burning over 37,000 acres, or 57.8 square miles, and leaving destroyed homes and livelihoods in their wake.

A California homeowner, who was evacuated due to the wildfires in the area, returned home to find a 525-pound black bear under his home.
