The Philadelphia Eagles dominated Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl Sunday night, picking off Mahomes twice and storming out to a 24-0 first-half lead thanks to rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean’s pick-six on his 22nd birthday.

Mahomes' mother, Randi, shared on Instagram that her father, Randy Martin, has died. The announcement comes after Martin entered hospice care just days before the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship.

Kansas City is set to compete for its third consecutive title against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on February 9. A win over the Eagles would make the Chiefs the NFL’s first-ever back-to-back-to-back champions and set a new standard for excellence in the league that would be hard to replicate by future dynasties.
