Tennessee football ended the 2025 season with an underwhelming performance and a wild ending, losing 30-28 to Illinois in the Music City Bowl.

Luke Altmeyer accounted for two touchdowns, Leon Lowery Jr. recovered a fumble for a touchdown, and David Olano made three field goals, including the game-winner, in Illinois' 30-28 win over Tennessee in the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl on Tuesday.

The 2025 college football bowl season rolls on Tuesday, December 30, with an intriguing slate of games taking place across the nation. On Tuesday, there will be three games, beginning in the early afternoon.

Tennessee will try to wrap up the 2025 college football season with a ninth win. The No. 23 Vols (8-4) conclude their year in the Music City Bowl in Nashville against Illinois (8-4) in a SEC vs. Big Ten matchup. The game is set for Dec. 30 (4:30 p.m. CT, ESPN) and will be held at Nissan Stadium.
