Longtime rivals Pitt and West Virginia extended the Backyard Brawl with a four-game football series that will run from 2033-36.

On the eve of the 108th Backyard Brawl, Pitt and West Virginia announced Friday they have agreed to play four more football games against each other, ensuring the rivalry will be played every season from 2029 through 2036.

The University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University have added four future football games beginning in 2033, the schools announced Friday. After a three-season break, the series is slated to resume in 2029.

The Backyard Brawl is set to continue until at least 2036 after Pitt and West Virginia agreed to an extension of the series.
