The White House has released its new AI action plan titled “Winning the AI Race: America’s AI Action Plan”, in accordance with President Trump’s January executive order on Removing Barriers to American Leadership in AI.

It’s July, and the White House Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) Action Plan (“Action Plan” or “the plan”) is almost here.

The strategic roadmap outlines a federal pivot toward business-friendly deregulation and support for U.S. AI dominance abroad.

A second set of policy proposals in the AI Action Plan seeks to promote the development of AI infrastructure. In particular, the White House is looking to streamline the permitting process for new data centers. Furthermore, the policy paper argues that officials should use AI to speed up environmental reviews of construction projects.
