North Texas began Wednesday with temperatures near or below freezing across most of the region. However, the area quickly warmed up under bountiful sunshine. The southeastern parts of North Texas saw a warmer morning due to increased cloud cover.

A gradual warm up through Friday before the next Arctic front blows in. Highs will reach the mid 60s before the bottom drops out over the weekend. Winds will be gusty both Saturday and Sunday which means it will feel even colder. Wind chills Sunday morning will likely be in the single digits and teens.

North Texas will enjoy a mild Thursday with highs near 59 degrees, but brace for a major chill with possible snow as an Arctic cold front arrives Friday night.

Lows Tuesday morning were in the 20s and lows Wednesday are expected to be in the 30s, an improvement but it's still cold. North Texas should see highs rebound into the 60s on Thursday and Friday, but it's short-lived.
