Brendan Carr, FCC Chairman, joins CNBC's 'Squawk on the Street' to respond to allegations that the Trump Administration pressured Paramount into a settlement agreement before approving a merger with Skydance.
Skydance needs FCC approval in order to take over Paramount. Itâs now promising to root out âbiasâ at CBS News in order to get it.
The settlement came amid a pending merger with CBS parent company Paramount and Skydance, which requires administration approval. Colbert blasted the network for settling with Trump in what he deemed a ânuisance lawsuitâ in a monologue on his show prior to being given the axe.
In a social media post Tuesday Trump said, âWe also anticipate receiving $20 Million Dollars more from the new Owners, in Advertising, PSAs, or similar Programming, for a total of over $36 Million Dollars. This is another in a long line of VICTORIES over the Fake News Media, who we are holding to account for their widespread fraud and deceit.â
