Two Tifton police officers were shot in the line of duty on Friday, and state leaders are offering support as the community awaits updates on the investigation.

Tifton, Ga. - Two Georgia police officers who were injured in an officer-involved shooting have been identified. The officers were identified as Michael Gaskins and Jerry Fulford. As of Friday, both were listed as stable.

The officers, identified by family as Michael Gaskins and Jerry Fulford, were still receiving medical treatment as of Sunday, officials said.

The suspect barricaded themselves inside a home near the 800 block of Lee Avenue. Details surrounding the suspect are unknown at this time.
