The winter storm brought heavy rain, flooding, and road closures across California. Officials evacuated people, closed major roads, and declared a state of emergency.

The storm is expected to bring significant rain and strong winds to Long Beach through Saturday night, Dec. 27.

Mayor Rex Richardson will deliver the 2026 State of the City Address on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Terrace Theater.

There were no immediate reports of injuries requiring hospitalization, said Chris Prater, a Fire Department spokesman.
