Drivers heading to Oahu’s North Shore should expect delays as lane closures are now in place along Kamehameha Highway near Waimea Bay following a landslide triggered by recent heavy rains.

Crews are working to stabilize the hill and, below at Waimea Bay, lifeguards are making sure no one gets too close to it.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation said the makai/southbound lane will be closed for about 600 feet halfway between the Waimea Bay parking lot and ‘Iliohu Way starting 4 a.m. Wednesday, March 18.
