Two large wildfires are burning in California. The Canyon Fire north of Los Angeles has already consumed several buildings and forced thousands to flee, while the Gifford Fire, which broke out about a week ago in Central California,

The Gifford Fire has scorched more than 96,000 acres of California’s Central Coast, becoming the state’s largest wildfire of the year so far. The massive wildfire burning in eastern San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties was 15% contained as of Thursday, Aug. 7, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
