Shohei Ohtani gave up an early run in his pitching debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but quickly made up for it at the plate with two clutch hits and a pair of RBIs in a 6-3 victory over the San Diego Padres.
According to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani will throw a simulated game in the coming days, and it could "potentially" be his last. Ohtani could also join the pitching rotation "sooner rather than later," possibly within the next week.
It will be another night of full energy when the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers clash again Tuesday as the National League West rivals continue a run of seven games against each other in 11 days.
While Tuesday lacks the spectacle of having Shohei Ohtani pitching, we'll have to settle for him merely hitting in the Dodgers' second game of this four-game series against the Padres at Dodger Stadium.
