Whittingham was formally introduced as the program’s 22nd head coach on Sunday, when he laid out his vision for a tough, physical, gritty football team in the wake of Sherrone Moore’s firing on Dec. 10.

Michigan interim head coach Biff Poggi said this week that the Wolverines could be facing a dramatically reduced roster for the Citrus Bowl due to players opting out. He acknowledged that as many as 25 players may not return after Christmas break.
