Kerr County officials now estimate that flood damage from the recent Central Texas disaster could exceed $200 million-and to help cover mounting recovery costs, they may raise property taxes for the first time in years.

Texas officials have revised the number of people missing in the catastrophic floods in Kerr County, Texas, from 97 people down to three on Saturday.

At its peak, 950,000 gallons per second flowed through the drainage basin of the South Fork of the Guadalupe River, reaching heights of 45 feet, according to preliminary modeling shared by Hastings at Monday’s Kerr County Commissioners Court meeting.
