The Dallas Cowboys did their best Neo impression, dodging a serious bullet with the Tyler Guyton injury in Oxnard. Initially, the fears were an ACL injury, but after the MRI results came back, a bone fracture and a four-to-six-week recovery timeline meant the Cowboys wouldn’t be without their starting left tackle for a significant period.

According to multiple reports, Guyton has a broken bone in his right knee that will not require surgery and he could miss four to six weeks. The Cowboys open the season at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4, meaning a recovery on the longer end of that timeframe would put Guyton's availability in question for that NFC East game.
