Doom: The Dark Ages releases May 15, 2025 (Xbox Series X/S, PC, …
Jan 23, 2025 · I loved Doom 2016. I very strongly disliked Doom Eternal and never bothered to beat it (despite several attempts to start it). This game has me right back and ready for Day 1. My biggest annoyance with Eternal was that it felt like constant busywork and micromanagement and that I was constantly on a checklist rotation of what to do next in combat.
It's been over three years, do you prefer DOOM 2016's ... - ResetEra
Jul 16, 2023 · DOOM Eternal, meanwhile, ended up on my most disappointing list in 2020. Played and completed DOOM 2016 across three individual platforms on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 + DLC and the outstanding port on the Switch, whereas it not only took me four months to finish DOOM Eternal, I sold my copy the day after I defeated that truly awful last boss…

Jan 23, 2025 · It looks like the crazy acrobatics of Eternal have been left behind, as they say in the direct, 2016 was running and gunning, eternal was jumping and hooking and this is.....standing? Gone is the neon cartoon styling of Eternal in favour of this brown beige mess. Even more exploration and puzzling which is the opposite of what I want to do in Doom.
Doom The Dark Ages - Will use the newest version of IDTech
Jan 7, 2025 · DOOM: The Dark Ages is id Software's dark fantasy/sci-fi single-player, action FPS prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. So why was there so much criticism towards Doom Eternal when it ...
Jul 23, 2021 · I enjoyed Eternal; not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. I preferred 2016 for the hands off story approach. Doom Eternal leaned too far into cutscenes / beating the player over the head. I also prefer the gameplay loop in 2016. Managing flame belch, chainsaw, glory kills was annoying in big battles.
Doom 2016 or Doom Eternal: Which reigns supreme? - ResetEra
Apr 11, 2021 · Doom Eternal is a bigger accomplishment as a game. It's an almost unmatched masterclass of FPS design that asks all the right things from the player and offer a lot in return. 2016 is less focused and not as accomplished in terms of mechanics, but it's a extraordinarily fun game that might appeal more for people who thinks Eternal is too demanding.
I tried replaying DOOM 2016 again after another DOOM Eternal
Dec 1, 2021 · Eternal has ruined DOOM 2016 for me retroactively and it feels like a bare bones prototype compared to Eternal. I guess that's a good thing as it means the franchise is in a upward trajectory and they addressed everything from the first game and then some, but I can't really recall when a sequel has made the previous game this obsolete for me.
Halo Infinite vs DOOM Eternal : what game has the most
Dec 12, 2021 · Both DOOM Eternal and Halo Infinite have incredible combat gameplay for a FPS and I feel that id Software and 343 Industries have reached a point where the gameplay loop in DOOM and Halo franchises is the best and most refined iteration it has ever been.
[eXtas1s] DOOM: Dark Ages is coming to Switch 2, can't be
Jan 24, 2025 · Is there a possibility the reason you haven't heard anything is because a porting studio is currently porting the Switch 2 version, meanwhile ID Work is fully occupied with the PS5 and Xbox version, kinda like Doom Eternal and how Panic button was working on the Switch version, meanwhile ID Work were working on the PS4 and Xbox version?
