Apr 2, 2024 · Last Tuesday, Clemson officially approved the contract for Poppie as the new women’s basketball coach, with Poppie and Clemson agreeing to a six-year contract running through the 2029-30 season. Poppie left Chattanooga to replace Amanda Butler, who was let go last month following six seasons at the helm of the Lady Tigers.

Clemson started an organized women's basketball program in 1975. The women have played in more than 1,000 games in a total of 49 seasons. In those seasons, four coaches have led the Tigers to at least one postseason tournament: Mary King , Annie Tribble , Jim Davis , and Amanda Butler .

The 2024–25 Clemson Tigers women's basketball team will represent Clemson University during the 2024–25 college basketball season. The Tigers will be led by first year head coach Shawn Poppie. The Tigers, members of the Atlantic Coast Conference, will play their home games at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina.
